ELEMENTARY TEACHER

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL COUNSELOR
Independent Elementary School is accepting applications for a .75-1.0 FTE K-6 School Counselor. Independent School is a county school district serving 290 students K-6 and is located just north of Billings.
A successful candidate would understand the significance of building relationships with students, staff and families. The school counselor position is a significant position in our building.
The school counselor is expected to:
* Conduct counseling of student groups and individual students regarding educational, behavioral, social, and emotional outcomes.
* Conduct classroom instruction to all classrooms K-6 on the Quaglia’s Eight Conditions and other appropriate topics.
* Provide counseling and guidance to students and parents.
* Review and evaluate academic and behavioral progress of students.
* Record data on behavior and share data trends with MTSS team.
* Consult with the teaching staff to facilitate counseling activities into the regular educational program.
* Consult with teachers, other educational staff, and parents regarding the developmental needs of students.
* Comply with Board policies, rules, regulations, and directives.
* Participate and provide input when asked for all IEP and 504 meetings.
* Provide information and articles for the school newsletter.
* Provide supervision as assigned by principal.

Academic Qualifications:
Must possess a Montana OPI certified Class 6 School Counselor licensure or be in the process of obtaining OPI certification.
SPECIAL EDUCATION PARAPROFESSIONAL
Independent School is seeking caring, dedicated individuals to join our team as Special Education Paraprofessionals.
In this vital role, you’ll support our Special Education teachers in providing care, instruction, and guidance to students with a range of needs—including those with mobility challenges, behavioral needs, and various learning disabilities.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing direct instruction to individual students or small groups
Recording data on student performance and engagement
Preparing instructional materials
Assisting students with mobility needs
Following directions from supervising teachers
Collaborating with general and special education staff
Assisting with lunch, recess, and bus duties
Performing other tasks as assigned by administration
Requirements & Conditions:
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, twist at the neck, reach, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
Commitment to fostering positive relationships with students and staff
Training and support provided; previous experience working with children is a plus
Must complete a fingerprint background check prior to employment
Position details:
Pay rate: $16.60/hour

SUBSTITUTES WANTED - POSITIONS AVAILABLE
Independent School is looking for substitute teachers for classroom teachers, specialists, and special education aide positions. The successful candidates will work to foster positive working relationships with all students and staff. Training and guidance will be provided. Previous experience with children a plus. Candidates must submit a letter of interest, resume or Classified Employment application and background finger print check. The position begins as soon as possible and background check is complete.
